The Camino de Santiago from Baiona A Santiago de Compostela

The section of the Camino de Santiago that goes from Baiona to Santiago marks the end of the Portuguese road along the Costa . This route begins in the charming seafood town of Baiona , located in the heart of the Rías Baixas .

This elegant fishing village invites you to walk through its picturesque promenade and discover jewels such as the Castillo de Monte Real , a fortress with impressive ocean views. In addition, Baiona is the perfect place to taste its recognized white wine Albariño and savor the Galician seafood, fresh and delicious.

From Baiona , the road goes to Vigo following the Atlantic coast, which turns this route into an ideal option to travel in the summer months, enjoying the views of the sea and the sea breeze. Throughout the tour, you can contemplate the spectacular beauty of the Cíes islands, part of the Maritime-terrestrial Park of the Atlantic Islands of Galicia .

The route continues until it reaches Redondela , point where the Portuguese road on the coast and the Portuguese path of the interior . Later, we will reach Padrón , a villa loaded with history and tradition. It is known both for being the place where, according to the legend, the remains of the Apostle Santiago landed, as well as the hometown of Rosalía de Castro , one of the most important figures in Galician literature. And, of course, for its famous Padrón peppers .

Finally, we will go to Santiago de Compostela , where our pilgrimage culminates with the arrival to the majestic Cathedral , a goal dream of by thousands of pilgrims every year.
