The Camino Primitivo—also known as the Camino de Oviedo or the interior route of the Camino del Norte—is the oldest documented pilgrimage path to Santiago. It begins at the Cathedral of El Salvador in Oviedo, traverses Asturias into Galicia via Lugo, and meets the Camino Francés in Melide.

The full route covers approximately 255 km (out of a longer 313 km itinerary), typically split into 13–14 stages of 20–25 km, with the final three in the Camino Francés segment.
