General description
The route of the Camino de Santiago between Logroño and Burgos is part of the third section of the French road , one of the most pleasant to walk thanks to its softer profile and its open landscapes.
The tour begins in Logroño , capital of La Rioja and epicenter of the good wine. It is the ideal starting point to enjoy the local gastronomy and the animated Jacobeo environment .
Throughout this section, the difficulty of the road is reduced compared to the previous sections. You will advance through agricultural land, undulating vineyards , picturesque medieval villages , and you can visit historical castles and monasteries loaded with symbolism.
Among the outstanding points, Santo Domingo de la Calzada deserves a special mention: a city full of legends , with a carefully preserved old town that invites himself to get lost.
The stage culminates in Burgos , cradle of the legendary Cid Campeador . This historical city is famous for its spectacular Gothic Cathedral , considered one of the most impressive in Spain, and for its important medieval legacy .
